I have a story to share. Not earthshaking, for sure, but embedded in my memory.
My Aunt Kathleen has always been everybody’s favorite. She was, and still is, beautiful, happy, pleasant, sociable, artistic and creative. She has a great sense of humor and is always able to find something to laugh about.
She gave me my BEST present ever. When I was six years old, I was confined to bed rest with rheumatic fever for a whole month. Pretty boring for a six year old. But one day during that long month my Aunt Kathleen came to see me and brought a present – one of her old purses! It was magical – filled with all kinds of stuff, even grown up makeup. Lipstick, rouge, powder. I don’t know what all, but I have never forgotten it. |
