Jeanne's baby boy Kelan Bain was born on August 10. Everything was prepared and ready for his birth - stacks of tiny clothes washed and folded in the drawers of the new white dresser, car seat affixed in the back seat of Dan's car and a great looking diaper bag purchased and waiting to be carried on the first excursion. Jeanne carries little purses and when she returned home from the hospital, her little black bag stood by the new diaper bag.

Her older sister Caroline found that she no longer carries her own well used red handbag when she leaves home with baby Charlie Bean and his fancy brocade diaper bag. Her purse sits at home next to the door, somehow no longer needed. Instead, Caroline stuffs her wallet, cell phone and lipstick in Charlie Bean's diaper bag where they shuffle downward and are covered over with diapers, burp cloths and baby clothes.

Jeanne, however, keeps her little black leather purse in circulation. Her purse travels with Kelan Bain and his diaper bag.
