Why I Make My Purses
Violette Marie-Claude Clark

I live and breathe to create and to inspire others to follow their bliss. I continue to seek my way and am always eager to explore and grow as an artist. One day I found myself seeking an idea, an opportunity for me to wear my art, as I wanted to offer my message to the world wherever I happened to be. I had already come to realize that in order to truly live the artful life that I have chosen I needed to extend my life as an artist beyond the studio, to all areas of my life. I have decorated my funky home and glittergirl van with my creative stylings and always yearn to do more. And it dawned on me one day...why not a purse?

And so my purse creations were borne. As soon as my first purse was completed I knew it had struck a chord in people of all ages. I was approached on the street so many times as I carried my colorful creation that it became a common daily occurrence. Then one day when I was walking down the street in Calgary while visiting my son, a woman actually stopped her car in the middle of the street, leapt from her vehicle and raced up to me to breathlessly ask, “Where did you get that cool purse?” My son was dumbfounded when I told him that I get this reaction all the time, and he encouraged me to find a way to bring my creations to market, in order to share my inspiring visions with others. I shall always be grateful for his insight and encouragement.

It’s been a struggle at times as I stretch my creative wings while exploring the business side of the artful life, but I am proud to have come so far and deeply appreciate the help and support of my many kind friends and family. And so I share my colorful world with you.

Won’t you join me in celebrating life by wearing one of my purses?

It might just change your life, just like it did mine!
